Milliner Shoot

I first worked with Margaret Woodliff Wright a few years ago when I was providing a photoshop for the Women’s institute in Rowlands Gill close to where I live.  Without realising it leading up to the shoot the incorporation of such great beautiful hat transformed the experience for all the ladies who were photographed.  I remember that virtually everyone loved the images and wanted prints but in every instance the images which included the beautiful hats provided by MargaretI was asked to provide the photography for the shoot a U Salon in Gosforth and between us working with the U Salon Manager Michelle Mcfadyen we found a lovely group of models. Michelle provided two members of staff providing hair and make-up.  So everything was in place for what turned out to one of the most enjoyable and artistically fulfilling photography shoots i have ever been part of.  The hats were simply wonderful and there were so many to choose from it was like being in a chocolate shop and trying to taste everything at the same time.  Margaret was able to calmly choose the right hat to match the models costume and hair colour.  I was able to capture such a range of colours and styles that resulted in a image set which was so strong choosing the images to process was very difficult.  As a photographer being in this position is without doubt the best place to be.Margarets creative flair in visualising and creating hats is impossible for me to comprehend she is without question a master of her craft and a leader in the art of Millinery.

I do hope to work with her again and as soon as possible.
