Wedding Photography Course

Wedding photography the complete course

Phil has been a successful wedding photographer all over the UK as well as in India, Spain and Italy. This comprehensive course is intended to provide photographers with everything they need to know from winning wedding jobs to the delivery of stunning images that generate great feedback and future business.

“When I speak to photographers about wedding photography, its not just about the taking of photographs, it’s even more to do with the responsibility of getting it right. Many photographers worry about the pressure and responsibility of taking photographs that will capture the most important day in a couples life.  Having photographed weddings for many years with my wife Jeanette, I feel well equipped to help photographers to enter this competitive market with real confidence and to succeed”.

The course will be delivered in two parts

Part 1

A full day interactive classroom session supported by comprehensive presentations, concentrating on how to present yourself, how to be organised and remove the stress. It will also show a set of key images and explain how to capture them. This part of the course will also provide you with a set of support documents covering; presentation, planning the job, organising your kit, sample quotations and invoices, all to make your whole delivery totally professional. To complete this session, practical instruction and demonstration of off-camera lighting will prepare you for the next session, which will be working within a church with a couple and a priest to capture beautiful images.

Part 2

A half-day photoshoot with stunning bride and groom models and a real priest, shooting in a beautiful church. The objective of this session is to ensure that you can capture images that will delight your clients.

Having enrolled on a couple of Phil’s workshops I can honestly say that I have learned so much from him. His enthusiasm for photography is infectious and he always pays particular attention to your learning needs whatever level you are at, a beginner or an experienced photographer. He has very high standards and I am always impressed with how much effort and energy he demonstrates in his sessions. Yes, you can learn quite a bit for free on Youtube but nothing is better than having access to a true professional. I can highly recommend you enroll on any of his workshops that may interest you whether it is wedding photography, landscapes or portraiture.

Hi Phil,

Just a quick note to say thanks for last night, I know how hard you worked to get it organised and it was a really good night.
A massive thanks to our models, including our priest, they all added to the authentic feel.  Even though I have photographed many wedding and umpteen family shoots I still strongly believe in attending training events at least a couple of times per year. It’s good to talk over technique with others and I always learn something that I can apply to my own business.

In early December I attended an evening photo-shoot organised by Phil Punton of Phil Punton Wedding photography, with several other like minded photographers in the really quite lovely St Mary Magdelene church in Medomsley Consett. I was a bit concerned as I left Newcastle in light snow, that I would get stuck in the wilds of county Durham, but it was fine in the end.

Phil had organised a wonderful real-life couple to act as model bride and groom, and also enlisted a church friend to be our vicar.

I thoroughly enjoyed Phils wedding course, there was a lot of really useful and insightful information during the first presentation half of the course and hearing it from Phil’s real industry experiences really helped me also to understand and put situations in to context.
There was a lot of great information to take in, but knowing i’m able look back at the slides from the session will definitely help me to reiterate any bits I might have missed.
The practical photoshoot part of the course was really enjoyable, Phil organised a wonderful church with a great couple and talked us through different parts of the ceremony, taking different shots of the couple. I am really pleased with the resulting images I took which will help launch my portfolio as a wedding photographer.
Overall I found the course really enjoyable, friendly and beneficial. Also I believe the course would be useful for photographers at any experience level.

Hi Phil

I just want to thank you for being such a great, patient teacher. Having taken part in several of your courses now I have to say that I have learned lots of useful skills and have put them to use on more than one occasion.
To anyone that is considering joining one of Phil’s courses I would say don’t hesitate – go ahead and enrol because you won’t regret it, no matter what level your photography is at! Phil is an excellent teacher and has so much patience, he will never “belittle” you and if there is anything that you aren’t quite sure of he will talk you through it. When I have thought “Oh, I can’t do that” Phil has assured me “Yes you can” and with his guidance I have done it. I came away feeling more confident and ready to try my newly acquired knowledge. It’s great value for money and you are guaranteed some cracking images that will help build your portfolio

I have a friend for life in Phil and am looking forward to his next course

HI Phil,
Just wanted to say thank you for the training, the course was well worth attending.  Even though I have been first and second shooter at a few weddings, your course gave me lots of pointers where I was going wrong and lots of ideas on how to improve.  There was a lot of content and the addision of the training material was well laid out which means I have a referance for the future.  Again thank you for your time and paitients.
